This is the center of one of our sago palms - I believe these are baby leaves forming.
Our bush beans have gotten huge! I can't believe we're actually successfully growing veggies!
I've photographed these tiny spiders several times. They come in several colors and I love the "happy face." They're called spiny-backed orb weavers.
And, our sunflowers! I was really afraid they weren't going to sprout, but they did! So, we'll see how we do with these. They are our first sunflowers ever, too!

Lindsay really enjoyed growing her sunflowers last spring, but the snow that we had during the winter season caused her to lose all but one. I think that we will plant more next spring. I can't wait to see your's in blom.
Pups are so easy to grow but it takes a long time to grow to the size you have.
Just look on the bottom of the plant and you will notice little plants growing on the bottom. My hubby used a shovel and just pulled them off. (Bugs hang out in the crevices so be prepared. I hate bugs.) Then just put in dirt.
Plus once you take off the pups - your palm will thrive! Did you know that their is a female and male of this palm? Palms are so interesting. Great learning tool!
Have fun! I had a huge sunflower garden last year. One of the major storms killed it. I'll have to post a pict of my girls in it.

You asked about Prima Latina and my journey into foreign language study. Ha! I have to laugh because foreign language has been seriously neglected. Seriously!!
We used Prima Latina and loved it, but it got left behind in the shuffle of every other subject we try to fit in. I've bought Spanish computer games, the Rummy Roots card game and a greek/latin roots book (the name escapes me right now.) NONE of them have been used regularly.
I feel like such a slacker in the foreign language department. I HAVE to do at least a year or two for high school credits. Knowing me, I'll wait until it absolutely has to be done before I pull it back to the top of our curriculum pile. ;O)
