Monterey Bay Aquarium and Big Sur (Day 2)

After looking at the tide pools, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It is incredible and we could have spent a lot of time there, but we had a lot to do.

These are sea nettles. They had a HUGE display of these beautiful sea jelly. This wall was probably 15 feet tall. What an amazing site!

We ate lunch at the aquarium... overlooking the bay. And, at the table, they had a chart of birds you might see and a pair of binoculars! Neat idea!

After eating, we went outside to look at the bay again. They had some free telescopes, and I used one to take this photo! I think Alex suggested it, and it was a neat idea!

Here's a photo of those seals using my zoom lens instead of the telescope and my "little" camera.

This was a neat site we watched... the pelican on the left caught a fish. He still has it in his pouched bill. The other pelican was trying to steal it. It was quite the site!

As we were leaving Monterey Bay, I had to take some photos of these colorful trees. These beautiful trees are Eucalyptus tress. (Thanks to Barb and Jennifer for helping me identify them!)
Next, we drove down Highway 1 through Big Sur. The mountains that rise abruptly from the Pacific Ocean in this area are the Santa Lucia Mountains. I couldn't believe how beautiful this area was! We stopped many times and I took several 100 photos. And, it reminded me so much of Ireland!

And, a rare photo of me, too! And then a few more photos...
