Last night, we decided to watch the 4th of July fireworks from our pool. We turned the light on in the pool and hopped in for some fun. What a shock when we saw... BATS!!!
We have lived in our house 12 1/2 years and this is the first time we've ever seen the bats! I didn't get any photos last night, so I went back out tonight to see if I could catch them on video. I saw at least 3 bats at one time and some of them swooped over the pool. The videos were poor, but below is the best one. It is short and at the end you'll see 2 bats flying across the sky. Alex and I are so thrilled with our BATS!!!
How fun! We have some in our backyard too, and I hope they are really hungry for mosquitoes this summer!
ReplyDeleteNone around here. It hasn't rained in over a month so no flying bugs around here for them to eat.
ReplyDeleteFUN! I used to watch them in my grandmothers yard as a young girl. They would terrify me, but I couldn't help sitting out there with my favorite Aunt Liz to watch them. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Can you really see fireworks from your yard? That's fantastic! We really like fireworks, but I'm a big chicken when it comes to the ones you shoot off at home.
ReplyDeleteGreat bug control!

LOL, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they were "thrilled" with their bats before!
ReplyDeleteFriends of mine had bats in their house a couple of years ago - nighttime visits to the bathroom were daunting! They were SO glad when the spring came and the bats left so they could close up the entry points!
Lovely and that turtle nose is darling ;)
