Saturday's Fun

Alexandra and I have had a great Saturday. We started by taking a "gingerbread" (or graham cracker) house class and eating a few of the toppings. Then, we went to Downtown Houston to see Houston via Colori. During this free event, various people and groups decorate squares on the street to raise money for The Center for Hearing and Speech.

Some of the artists (MOST of the artists) were incredible and I'd like to try this at our house sometime. They used pastels.

I thought I'd just leave some photos today... they're pretty self-explanatory! (Oh, and a few of them are of activities they had for the kids.)

Ooh - I'd love to visit Houston someday! The gingerbread house looks great. We tried our hand at them last year and it wasn't quite the picture perfect experience I had expected!

You know GB told me that he doesn't want to do a gingerbread house this year? Broke my heart. Are my days of doing gingerbread houses with my kids over?.... Wah!

What a fun day and how cool to be able to watch these people create these incredible pieces of art! I must also tell you that your daughter is so beautiful. I was just thinking as I was catching up with your blog tonight that she has grown so much over the year. I suppose they all do, but we tend to not notice our own as we do others. :)
