Buggy Books
Our local museum is hosting a year-long book club. Each month they have a "theme" and the kids are supposed to read one book from their long list of books. This month's theme was insects and spiders and I looked through their list and picked some of my favorites. We've read a lot of these, and others I thought sounded good from their description. So, here's the list:
We love the Magic School Bus! Great books.
ReplyDeleteWe are currently growing butterflies and I was thinking it would lead into a bug unit so this is a perfect list for me to get started! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, I'm so glad this helped! Hope you enjoy the books. We've done a lot on butterflies, too. We raised a couple of batches of Monarchs this fall and we "raised" Painted Ladies that we ordered. You can click on "butterflies" on my sidebar under "labels" or do a search for butterflies on my site (top left - under "search blog"). I think you'll run across books and other resources. Have fun with the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteI would love to do more with this subject, too. I'm hoping for a lull in time pressures in March and April, so maybe we could work on bugs and butterflies. That would be fun!
ReplyDeleteHI! HOPE YOU DON'T MIND I'M SUBSCRIBING TO YOUR SITE, BECAUSE I REALLY ENJOYED READING IT. I CAME ACROSS YOURS FROM ANDREA AT MEEKANDQUIETSPIRIT. HAVE A GOOD DAY!
ReplyDeleteI love that nature is your biggest category. It's refreshing to see others as enthusiastic about it as we are.
