The last place we went in Golden Gate Park was the Japanese Tea Garden. It was a beautiful garden and we enjoyed walking around the peaceful setting. For this post, I'll mainly share photos...
(the azaleas were in full bloom)
(my first cherry blossoms! also in full bloom)
(a zen garden)
Western Scrub-Jay (thanks to a couple of comments for the identification!)
(Alex loved climbing this bridge)
(it was harder to climb up than it looks!)
(I LOVED this iris!)
(I believe this is a tulip tree)

Dana, this looks like a lot of fun. we go to a Japanese garden every year in Ireland! not quite as big as this one it seems!
let me know how the art stuff is going, if you have any Q's I am here!

What a beautiful garden and great pictures. I can't help with identifying that bird, but I wouldn't be surprised if 'Blue' or a Latin reference to Blue is in its name.
We went to the Botanic Garden of Utrecht in the Netherlands to enjoy man-made nature settings with flowering trees and blooming flowers. (You can click my link to see the pictures) Isn't it one of the great pleasure of homeschooling to be able to pay extra attention to nature and the change of seasons?
This has got to be my favorite of all the places you have visited. Absolutely gorgeous. I am very fond of flowers and plants so maybe this is the reason why I like it so much. That Japanese tulip tree is beautiful! I am not positive, but the bird looks like it may be a Florida Scrub-Jay. Although the tail does not seem to be long enough, it may be a juvenile.
So pretty! :)
Amazing, and so beautiful!
So beautiful.
In the midst of the craziness of life, remember to carve out some "you time," a little "mother culture," and make something lovely each day to nurture your own soul, and then you will have more to offer to others and prevent burn out as well. And don't forget that The Artistic Mother's Art Group can help with that. I find that the group is helping me to balance life, motherhood and being artistic.
I'm so glad you are a part of our group, and I look forward to seeing your versions of the projects we are all doing together in The Artistic Mother by Shona Cole. Please let me know if there is ever anything that I can do for you or if you ever have any questions.
May God bless your day.

Since you were in California I would say that bird is a Western Scrub-Jay. Hope that helps.
Gorgeous pictures!!
We have a Japanese garden close by but I've never been. Maybe, since I liked your pictures so much, I should take a special trip.
The bird is so cute.
Definitely a Western scrub jay. The purple iris is a dutch iris and I have a whole bed of them in my front yard....gorgeous!
I can't tell you how many photos we have taken on that very bridge!
Thank you for identifying the tulip tree! They are all over the place up here and I've had no idea what they were! Great pictures all over the blog!
Blessings,
Laurie
