We were at a restaurant last night and saw on the news that Nelson Mandella had been released from the hospital. My husband started explaining to Alex who he was and then told her he knew of a great movie that would teacher her a lot about him, South Africa, and apartheid. She knows 3 sisters (triplets!) from South Africa, so this would seem more 'real' to her.
The movie is by ESPN and it's a 30 for 30 film called "The 16th Man". It's the story of how Mandella used the sport of rugby to unite his country after becoming president. It's an amazing story! (My link is to YouTube, but it is also available on Netflix.)
